Terms of service

Terms for using Checkmate Trade.

Effective August 9, 2026. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy.

1. Educational service only

Checkmate Trade provides general market research, AI-generated summaries, education, and clearly labeled interface simulations. It is not a broker-dealer, does not hold customer trading funds, does not guarantee results, and does not provide personalized investment, tax, or legal advice.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter an agreement. Keep your password confidential, provide accurate information, and notify support about unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account.

3. Paid plans

Paid plans are recurring monthly subscriptions processed by Stripe at the price shown before checkout. You authorize recurring charges until cancellation. You may manage or cancel through Stripe’s billing portal. Except where law requires otherwise, charges already incurred are non-refundable.

4. AI and data limits

AI output and third-party data may be incomplete, delayed, inaccurate, or unavailable. You must independently verify time-sensitive information. Usage limits may vary by plan. We may maintain, update, suspend, or discontinue features.

5. Preview features

AutoPilot, paper portfolio, alerts, journal, backtesting, broker connection, and similar screens are previews unless the site expressly identifies a feature as live. Current preview controls do not place real or simulated orders with an outside broker.

6. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the service, probe security, evade usage limits, scrape without permission, share account access, upload malware, infringe rights, or use the service for unlawful activity. We may restrict abusive or unsafe use.

7. Intellectual property

The site design, software, branding, and original educational content are owned by or licensed to Checkmate Trade. These terms grant a limited, personal, revocable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” to the maximum extent permitted by law. Trading involves substantial risk. Checkmate Trade is not liable for market losses, decisions made from AI output, third-party outages, or indirect or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow every limitation, so applicable law controls.

9. Changes and termination

We may update these terms by posting a revised effective date. Continued use after an update means acceptance. You may stop using the service at any time. We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or threaten the service.

10. Governing principles

These terms are intended to be governed by applicable United States and Texas law, without overriding consumer protections that cannot legally be waived. Any real-money automation would require separate terms and compliance review before release.

This site-specific version removes draft placeholders, but qualified counsel should review it before real-money trading, broker integration, or regulated advisory services are offered.
